5 Reasons Why I Volunteer for USMF: Pari Aryafar

My name is Pari Aryafar, or you may know me better as “Pari-Cherry.” I’m a Iranian-American photographer and journalist currently based in Amsterdam. Since 2017, I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer for the USMF and have made three IFMA trips with the national team. I share a few reasons why I love volunteering for USA Muaythai!

After Decades of Waiting, Muaythai Has Finally Been Recognized as an Olympic Sport

For many, they never thought they would see the day come when Muaythai became an Olympic sport. However, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced this summer that after several years of efforts from the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) and their affiliate sanctioning bodies, Muaythai (along with Kickboxing and Sambo) have finally been fully recognized. The time where athletes can compete in Muaythai at the Olympics has been tentatively estimated for before the end of this decade.

2021 USMTO West Recap

Recap: This past weekend the good people at the United States Muaythai Open had their yearly tournament in Arizona at the Sheraton Hotel in Phoenix. After a long hiatus, due to the devastating pandemic, The USMTO had a year long break and athletes have been eager to compete.

The United States Muaythai Federation Condemns any form of violence, discrimination, racism, and hate towards any community.

The USMF will always celebrate our athletes and community regardless of race, religion, sexual identity, or political affiliation. We will not stand for or tolerate hate, violence, racism and discrimination and call on all of those that love the sport of Muaythai and that love this country, to join in condemning all racism and discrimination and work to help put an end to it in our communities.
